You Are Not Alone in This
An abortion decision can affect women in different ways, and there is no single way to feel afterward. Some women feel relief. Others find that grief, anxiety, or a sense of loss surfaces later, sometimes long after the procedure.
Feelings may come and go, arrive unexpectedly, or build over time in ways that are hard to explain.
If that describes where you are, please know that what you are experiencing is recognized and that support is available. You deserve a space to process this honestly, without being told how you should feel.
One-on-One Support
Carlisle Area Family Life Center offers free, confidential one-on-one sessions for women who would like to talk through their experience after an abortion. These sessions are a space to be heard, work through unresolved feelings, and begin moving forward at your own pace.
Our staff is here to listen and support you, not to judge the decision you made.
Project Rachel
For women who would benefit from a more structured or community-based setting, we can refer you to Project Rachel, a professional program offering group support for post-abortion healing.
Project Rachel provides a confidential, compassionate environment for women to process their experiences alongside others who understand.
If you are interested in learning more about Project Rachel or would like a referral, our staff can help you get connected.
Post-Miscarriage Support
Grief after a miscarriage can be significant and often goes unacknowledged. If you have experienced a pregnancy loss and are looking for support, we can connect you with resources to help you through that process as well.
You are welcome to reach out regardless of how recently your loss occurred.
Reach Out When You Are Ready
There is no deadline on healing, and there is no wrong time to ask for help. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can contact us online to discuss which kind of support might be the right fit for you. Everything is free and confidential.
